 Pet Name: Ghlaghghee Owner: mimipoof Breed: Wocky About Ghlaghghee: I used to have no home. I was just a Wocky who would wander around the town and woods. I thought that was a good life. But it was a little lonely. If you’re never in one place for very long, it’s hard to make good friends. I had seen my owner more than once before she adopted me. She has this way of attracting strays and other odd things. So there I was, playing with a ghoti in the river, and she came by and petted me. “You’re fluffy!” she said. (And I am very, very fluffy.) And she snatched me up and took me home with her. Little did I know what was in store for me. She let me keep my little ghoti friend from the river. She asked me my name. “I don’t really have one,” I replied. “Or at least not one I can remember.” “We’ll have to work on that.” She led me out into a beautiful garden, where I was able to keep my little ghoti friend happy in a little stream. I was very happy knowing I’d be cared for here, but I was a little upset that my new brother and sister had names and I didn’t. My owner sat next to me on the stream, and we watched my ghoti friend swim for a bit. She petted me softly. “You really are quite the fluffy one,” she said, stroking my tail. “That’s it!” “What?” I asked. “Your name! You’ll be called Fluffy!” Never having a name before, I couldn’t argue with that. It seemed a perfectly reasonable name, after all. She quickly went into a room and came out with a plate that she said could go on my door. “GHLAGHGHEE” was written in bright blue letters. I started to try and pronounce it... and ended up choking a bit. “Are you okay?” She patted my back. “What’s that say?” “Fluffy! Your name.” “But... that’s not how you spell ‘fluffy’!” I couldn’t figure out what she was talking about. “How else would you spell it?” She really did seem confused. I didn’t know how to respond to that. “Well, if ‘fish’ can be spelled g-h-o-t-i, then ‘fluffy’ can be spelled g-h-l-a-g-h-g-h-e-e.” I thought about it for a minute, and decided then and there that I liked this person. We could get along quite well. My new home was everything I expected and more! I have a sister -- a very bossy Tuskaninny who reads too much, and a brother, a Kiko who can call down lightning whenever he gets mad. (My sister and I try to avoid doing that.) And now, I even have wings! Even if they’re more decorative than practical, they make me look elegant, don’t you think? And I still have my little ghoti friend. It loves its new stream. It took my owner and me a few days to come up with a good name for it. But we decided if I’m a fluffy Wocky named “Ghlaghghee”, I can have a ghoti named “Fish”. It makes perfect sense.
