Pet Name: Cyberskull
Owner: hydropower
Breed: Bori

About Cyberskull:
Cyberskull had never had any friends.

The reason might be that he had never been the most friendly or trustworthy looking Bori. He didn't know how to act around other Pets, let alone making sort of social bonds. He'd never needed to.

He'd been living on his own in the dark caves in the mountains between Shenkuu and Central Neopia since his parents had left him for reasons unknown to him. And he'd never had a problem with it. He went hunting and gathering and mostly his scary looks had done him good. Everybody else would leave him alone and nobody would dare to attack him.

But nature itself wasn't a nobody.

So the day came when nature suddenly seemed to want to get rid of the small creatures living in the cave and tunnel systems of the mountains. Dozens of earthquakes shook the ancient stones and made the caves built in years of work collapse. Among the countless Boris that lived in the mountains, Cyberskull was the only one to make it out in time. Running for his dear life, he didn't look where he went.

Just when he was about to collapse from all the running, he saw the city which peeked out of the mountains in front of him. Haltingly Cyberskull entered the small paths leading the way through the Asian looking city until he found the market. Following the smell of exotic food, Cyberskull came to a halt in front of a booth with delicious looking things on it.

"Excuse me, sir," he said, addressing the Grarrl in front of him. But the shop keeper didn't even seem to be interested in what he had to say.

"Don't you dare coming any closer, you beast," the Grarrl growled, staring at Cyberskull as if he'd wanted to shove him away.

Some other people turned around, every single one staring deprecatingly at the Bori with the skull mask. "What's that?" they shouted. "Is he a monster?"

"Oh no, I'm sure this is one of Dr. Sloth's beasts!"

"Go away, you dirty beast!" All of them shouted insults or waved their fists at him.

Frightened and sad, Cyberskull turned around and ran away. The wind immediately dried the tears that formed in his eyes which he had squinted shut. As he opened them again, the Bori found himself in the middle of a giant flower garden with little children playing in the blossoms. One of them - a little light-brown Kacheek - made her way over to Cyberskull.

A panicked cry broke the silence. "What's the princess doing?"

Another person began to shout: "Get her away, the beast might want to hurt her! Just look at how evil he looks!" But none of them dared to come close to the scary masked Bori save for the little child they had called "the princess".

Suddenly the little Kacheek stood right in front of Cyberskull. "You look sad, Mr. Bori," she said, smiling naively and holding out her arms. Her tiny fingers had a tight grip on a beautiful orange flower. "Look, I brought you a flower so you can be happy again and we can be friends!"

Cyberskull hesitated. "Why don't you run away like all the others do?"

"Because you're sad and you need to be solaced. That's what friends do!"

Cyberskull smiled. "Thank you, my friend." And carefully he reached out for the little flower.

Cyberskull had never had any friends.

But this seemed like a good start for him.
