 Pet Name: shyboo Owner: saro_the_legendaerie Breed: Techo About shyboo: There's a lot of misconceptions about you; being the way you are. Unconverted and all. Grey and all. You're kind of tired of them, really, but at least you're glad that people are talking to you again. For so long, you'd lived inside your Neohome all alone, waiting for your owner to come back. So many years, alone with your thoughts, made you like this. Quiet. Shy. Grey. Like a dream deferred, you sat and rotted and crystallized like this; clinging to your old face, your old ways even when now you realize it just made you more alone. You're old, and you're so different, and you feel it down to your bones. But even this, the awkward interactions with other pets with their fancy clothes and colors and names, is better than being alone. It's late afternoon and you're wandering around, looking in all the shops. Not looking to buy, just to look; to compare the images in your head of these places and see what's changed. The answer: almost everything. But you suppose that's not bad, even if you still don't like clothes. "Hey, mama," a baby Lupe asks his mother, pointing at you. "What's that pet?" "It's a UC," she mutters and drags the child away. You try, and fail, not to notice that way she avoids looking at you. You're old and tired and kind of cranky most of the time, but you're just glad to have woken up. It wasn't that long ago that your owner returned home; but it feels like forever you spent waiting. Suddenly one day, he came home; and then you were whisked out the door to live with someone else who fed you and talked to you and just to have that again was so nice. You cried that night; just so, so happy to have been finally remembered. You cry other nights, too, though, when you realize how everything has changed. You have to relearn so much; the edges of the map have been filled in and the world is so much smaller than it was before, but it's still so big and strange. You don't leave the house much after that first exciting day for a week. Luxor, the Peophin, seems to get and leaves you food outside your room. Tasty stuff, like what you had when you were still young, and you sleep and eat in the solitude you'd hated for years. It still takes you aback sometimes, when you're out shopping or on some other errand Luxor gives you. You're still looking out for old friends that you know won't be there; or if they are, they have new faces and families. Some of them don't remember you at all. But that's okay, because you can make new memories this time. It's scary to get used to all this, all over again, but you're happy. The world has changed, left you behind a bit. But you're just glad to be back in it.
