My name is Lapling. I�m a red Kau and I was born on the most beautiful island in the Caribbean, called Saint Lucia. I live near the sea with my owner Lippylou and my brother �kay 414. I play on the beach everyday with my other Kau friends but I enjoy it the most when I have the beach all to myself. Let me tell you a little about where I live.

St Lucia is the largest of the Windward Islands and it is located between Saint Vincent, to the south and Martinique, to the north. We�re just about south of North America. We have lovely beaches and our most well known tourist attractions are the Pitons (two volcanic plugs which are about 2400ft) and the Sulphur Springs. The Sulphur Springs are the remnants of a volcano. One of the sides of this volcano collapsed a loooong time ago (40,000 years to be exact), and this lets people drive right into the middle of it.(That�s why it is called a drive-in volcano) But you have to be careful that you don�t get toasted!

Although I take it for granted, one of the great things about living in the Caribbean is that there is no snow. We walk around in T-shirts all year round. Still I can�t but help feel a little jealous when I hear that my friends are going to spend the Christmas holidays in other snowy countries. Lippylou told me not to worry because although she has been traveling a lot, she has never seen snow either, but she has promised to get me a faerie snow globe. I do hope we can find one!!
