 Petpet Name: Goober Owner: meadow_lark Pet Name: _Shika_kun_ Breed: Pile of Soot About Goober: I remember how I, a happy little Stego, bounded after my owner, wondering where we were going. I remember being led into a place with lots of machines beeping and booping, pictures flashing across computer screens. I couldn't catch what any of them said, but I didn't have to read them to know I didn't want to be in this place. I tried to back out, tried to run away. Behind my owner's back, I headed for the exit, but bumped into a crazy-looking little Kookith, whose swirly orange eyes looked me up and down. Its creepy little mouth twisted into what could only be described as a grin, and the Kookith didn't hesitate in pushing me onto a platform in the centre of the room. I didn't know what was happening, or why I was here. Suddenly, a bright flash of light attacked me, and I felt my body shifting. The pain from the blast was blinding for a mere moment, but then it stopped, and I could feel everything about me changing. I felt like my legs had disappeared, along with my body and my head, even. I was lifted into the air by the force of the light, but in seconds it was over and I fell to the ground in pieces. 'In pieces?' was my first thought, wondering how that was even possible if I was still alive. But I got my answer when I blinked my eyes and looked at what I could of my new body... or lack of one. I tried to move but didn't have anything to move with. With a disappointed look, the Kookith approached me with a broom and dustpan, brushing me into it quickly. Wasting no time, he shoved the pan at my owner, who took it sadly. She gave a small, sad sigh, and took me home. The first chance I could, I wanted to be put in front of a mirror. What I saw, I would never have expected. I was reduced to a mere pile of soot, blackened and still steaming from the heat of the ray. Staring in that mirror, I realised how much my life had changed. I would've cried, but I had only a very small amount of water in me, just enough to make my eyes water. I couldn't move on my own now. My life was pretty much over, unless by some miracle the ray's effects wore off or something... Every day since, my owner has brought me back to that lab with all the computers and the creepy, crazy-eyed Kookith, in hopes that I'll change into something that at least has legs. It doesn't always work, though. Sometimes it makes me forget my name and gives me a new one. But maybe some day, it'll zap me into something magnificent, and then I can go outside and play with the other Petpets again...
