 Pet Name: Piece Owner: hauntinq Breed: Bruce About Piece: Piece is a Bruce of all trades, more out of necessity than anything. After all, he was separated from his family as an egg. He hatched into a handsome baby bruce, and quickly began his journey to find his family. One stop in his journey was at a bakery. All he knew were that there were some great smells coming from it, and he felt hungry. Since he was so small, no one saw him came in, nor did they see him wander to the kitchen. Splat! He fell into a giant pan filled with chocolate cake. He didn't know this at the time, but the cake was meant to go to King Skarl. As the baker was sliding the pan into the oven, he saw Piece's head pop out! The baker yelped and pulled the young Bruce out. "Well look at you, I thought you were a piece of chocolate." The baker chuckled. "Now be on your way." And that's how he got his name. Piece never did find his family, but did find a foster family to stay with. There were pets of fabulous colors; a scary darigan, a beautiful royal princess, and a couple cute babies he enjoyed playing with. He quickly grew to love this family, but one day their owner woke him up in the middle of the night. "Wake up, Piece," they said, smiling sweetly. "I found you a new home." A sleepy Piece obediently went with them to a scary place they thought they heard their owner call the pet trading post. Everyone was yelling and beside them, sat pets looking as scared as he felt. They walked straight up to another smiling individual. They had a beautiful plushie pet sitting beside them, who looked at Piece with disdain. With a flick of its nose, it joined Piece's former owner and Piece was led away. Piece looked back with a tear in his eye. He should have known he never had a chance against other, more beautiful colors. This new family introduced Piece to books and to fighting in the Battledome. He did enjoy books quite a bit more, but battling was fun, especially when he was battling bad guys. He stayed with them for a few months before being traded away again. His stats with new families got shorter and shorter, and it got to the point he didn't even bother to get attached to a family. Each time, he was traded for a better, more fancy colored pet. One night, he had barely had time to eat his dinner when he was being pulled back to the pet trading post. He bit back a sigh, knowing he was about to join another new family. Leaves crunched under his feet and he shivered, wishing he had a jacket or even a blanket to go with him, as autumn was quickly rolling in with a chill in the air. Minutes later, his old owner headed back home leading an adorable baby pet. To his surprise, instead of just being led away, his new owner wrapped a scarf around his neck and fastened a coat around him. Finally, she pressed a warm cup of hot cocoa into his hands, and he greedily drank the liquid. She grinned at him. "Hi, I'm hauntinq! Would you like to come live with me forever?" Piece nodded enthusiastically. "Oh yes, I would like that very much!" She chuckled. "Well good. I have a big empty neohome, and I need a pet to fill it. We have a garden, and a giant library with all the books you could want, and..." Piece smiled as he listened to his new owner rattle on. He had finally found his forever home at last. He loved autumn!
